*Maratea :Breathtakingly beautiful coastline. Picturesque old centre. Climb to the top of the mountain and visit the statue of Christ, in additional to the tourist port.
*Praia a Mare: Of expressive beauty is the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Grotta. In the area of Fiuzzi stands the Castello di Praia (XII-XIII century).A few kilometres is visible island of Dino.
*The Ruins of Cirella: There is a precious XVI century bust kept in the parish church. Important is the Roman Mausoleum of Cirella.
*Buonvicino: This gastronomical haven, sits 450 metres above sea level and has a town centre which dates back to the 15th century. The Sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna della Neve is worth visiting. It is a 35’from Acquappesa.
*Maierà : This quiet little village, situated 326 metres above sea level, with its enchanting old town centre. Is 30 minutes from Acquappesa. Excellent food and local wines.
*Diamante: The old town, characterised by narrow alleyways should be visited on foot in order to admire the “Murales” (1981). Famous is the national home of “the Accademia of red chilli peper”.
*Belvedere Marittimo : Beautiful mediaeval town, famous for its terracotta. The Cappucine monastery, built in 1595, and the Aragonese castle are well worth a visit. Several are many churches which house precious works from the XV-XVI century.
*S. Agata D’Esaro : Typical Calabrian village famed for its chestnut tree cèpes.
*Acquappesa: Famous by “Terme Luigiane”.
*Paola :The Sanctuary of San Farncesco di Paola (XV century), the cloister and the chapel which conserves the relics of S. Francesco. The underground church of Sotterra where antique Byzantine figures are on display.
*Altomonte : A treasure trove of 14th century Tuscan art.
*Papasidero :Area of particular historical and environmental interest because of the Romito cave with its prehistoric graffiti.
*Amantea : The discovery of a VI BC sanctury and numerous other artefacts prove the presence of Greek colonies in the Archaic age. These structures include the castle, the tower of Coreca, the tower of S. Giovanni and the tower of the Principessa.
*Padula : Visit the town and its Charterhause which is considered to be the one of the most beautiful in the world.
*Reggio Calabria : Visit the city and its museum which is home to the famous “Riace” statues.
*La Sila- Camigliatello : The high plateaux of the Sila mountains stretch a total area of 150,000 hectares encompassing parts of three Calabrien provinces : Cosenza, Crotone and Catanzaro. It have some of the most beautiful landscapes of southern Italy; The undulating landscape and the abundance of water system ( lakes, rivers and torrents) are characteristic of the area. *Il Pollino : The Pollino National park covers 193,000 hectares between Calabria and Basilicata and is the largest of the new protected areas in southern Italy (1993). The entire area is made up of the Pollino and Orsomarso masses and encompasses 56 towns; In some of theses towns there are still traces of italo- Albanian culture, language and traditions as well as clear traces of the successive rulers over the centuries.
